Words are magical. And they have much more weight than one might think. Let’s explore the meaning of abracadabra, the ancient Hebrew spell that means “I create what I speak.”
Fueled by emotion and intense focus and carried on the chi in your breath, every word you speak is a spell, drawing what you focus on towards you.
You create your own reality! Pretty intense, right?
It doesn’t have to be. Let’s look at a few things.
The meaning of abracadabra
Say, for example, you speak the phrase, “I want to be healthy.”
Instead of making yourself healthier, you’re actually reaffirming the idea in the quantum field that you are not healthy.
Another example. (Are you tuning into the meaning of abracadabra?)
When you utter, “I hope I’ll get the promotion,” you’re actually confirming that you do not, in fact, have it.
Instead, consider saying: “I am healthy.” This claims that state of healthiness as something that already exists. Or, “I have the promotion,” confirming that this is something that has already happened.
See what I mean? Small details, but they can make a huge difference.
Try this simple meditation around the concept of “abracadabra” (“I create what I speak”) to explore how this works in your everyday life.
Abracadabra meditation
Close your eyes. Focus on your breath until your heart rate slows and steadies.
Recall the last thing you said with strong emotion.
Now, repeat the phrase: “I create what I speak. How does this apply to this situation?”
ASK:
When I spoke those words, what was I creating?
What did I draw to myself?
Is this what I intended and desired?
By changing my wording, could I have created a more accurate intention? How can I more consciously create and direct this situation?
When you’re done, write down any impressions or thoughts you may have. In the days to come, reflect on these notes often. Consider how you want to move forward based on what you’ve learned.
