In this post, I’ll explore the idea of personal power a little, and offer you a simple meditation to help you dive deeper into how you use yours.

Your words, thoughts, and actions have power

This idea has been proven out again and again. Your personal power is palpable and potent when you learn how to tap into it.

Everything is energy. Everything is connected. Thoughts are things. And that means you have more power than you can imagine.

SO, what do you choose to do with that power every day?

How do you use your personal power?

Do you consciously control your energy?

Do you consider how your actions impact the people you interact with?

Do you think before you speak?

Are there times when you’re too focused on your own story that you don’t see points of view other than your own?

Nobody’s perfect. We all make mistakes. We all have bad days. And we all say things we don’t mean. (Me included. More often than I’d like.)

What matters is how you react when things DO go off the rails.

Personal power meditation exercise

Close your eyes. Focus on your breathing until your heart rate steadies and slows.

Briefly review your day with detachment, like you’re watching a movie.

ASK:

How did my actions affect those around me?

Did I do or say anything I didn’t mean?

Did I upset or anger someone unintentionally? How could I have handled that situation differently?

And then? Listen.
