When you charge a crystal with an intention, you create a powerful energetic tool to help manifest your desires and assist you on your spiritual path.

Here’s a quick guide to help you create potent crystal allies to help you on your journey.
Keep in mind, this is just one way to do this to give you an idea to get moving.
Step 1: Cleanse your crystal before you charge it with an intention
Before you charge a crystal with an intention, be sure you cleanse it first.
When you work with a new crystal, you want it to be a blank slate, free from the energetic tendrils of the people and places it encountered before you.

Step 2: Ground and center yourself
You want to have a clear mind when you charge your crystal with an intention.
Do a quickie meditation. Longer if you’ve had a stressful day or are feeling off kilter.
Close your eyes. Focus on your breathing until your heart rate steadies and slows.
When you feel calm and centered, you’re ready to charge your crystal.
Step 3: Set the intention you want to infuse into your crystal
To make your intention really effective, make it super clear and very focused.
Your intention should be worded in such a way that it reinforces your goal.
For example, say you want to draw more financial prosperity into your life.
Don’t say: “I wish for more money.” When you phrase your intention like this, it reinforces the idea that right now, you DON’T have a lot of money.
Instead, try: “I am abundant and financially secure.” Phrasing your intention this way reinforces the idea that you have already achieved your goal…and you’re focused on what you want, not on what you don’t.
This is part of what I’ve always called quantum manifestation, a way to achieve your desires that’s based in theoretical physics.

Step 4: Connect with your crystal
Once you’ve set your intention, hold your crystal in both hands over your heart.
(Sound cheesy? It’s practical, actually. Your heart is literally the biggest energy center in your body.)
Repeat your intention aloud in a clear voice 3 times, or until you feel that you’ve connected with your crystal’s energy and have imbued it with your desire.
Trust your intuition. If you need a stronger connection, repeat your intention another 3 times.
Step 5: Keep the energy alive
The more you focus on your intention, the stronger that energy becomes.
Keep your crystal on your person or near you.
At least once a day, hold your crystal and repeat your intention aloud (or in your head if you need to be discreet).
